Rodger G. Fehr, died February 6, 2008 at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas.Rodger was the son of Ernest and Jessie (Blackburn) Fehr, and was born May 19, 1940 in West Bend, IA. He was raised and received his education in West Bend, graduating from the West Bend High School in 1958. On June 1, 1973 he married Janet Fogarty in Algona. The couple lived in West Bend, Hawaii and Des Moines, before moving to Shawnee Kansas in 1984 where they lived the majority of their married lives. While in West Bend Rodger farmed, ran the Aloha Cafe, worked at Mertz John Deere and served as a member of the West Bend School Board. He was also a member of the FFA where he was named an “American Farmer” in 1961.
Survivors include his wife Janet of Shawnee, KS, and sons, Ron (Sandy) of Boone, IA, Bill of Chandler, AZ, and Don (Susie) of Des Moines, IA, grandchildren: Theresa(Michael) DeWild, Jesse and Casandra Fehr, great granddaughter, Jaquelyn DeWild, and his sister Elaine Wilderman of West Bend, IA. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and a granddaughter Brandy in 2006.
