Rodger Edward Carter, Sr., 52, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Orange Park and had been a lifelong resident of Putnam County. Rodger had worked as a carrier for Florida Times-Union and Palatka Daily News. He had also worked 6 years for Florida Packing. Rodger was a member of the San Mateo Church of God and in his leisure time enjoyed fishing and watching football.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey E. Carter, Sr., and Evelena Rogers Carter as well as his sister, Mary Armstrong.
He is survived by his sons, Rodger Carter, Jr. (Amanda), Matthew Carter and Jonathan Carter (Catherine), brothers, Harvey Carter, Jr. (Kathy), Dwayne Carter (Wanda), sister, Delores McQuaig, and 11 grandchildren.
