Rodney Rod Burton Walling, age 76, of St. Johns, died on April 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Rod was born on March 3, 1948, to the late Burton and Luella (Gardner) Walling. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School, and enrolled in the United States Army where he pridefully served his country during the Vietnam war. Following his time in the Army, he worked as a pipefitter at General Motors and was a member of UAW local 652, until he retired in 2001. After Rod retired from General Motors he drove bus for Clinton Transit for several years, where he enjoyed meeting new friends everyday.On June 14, 2001, he married the first love of his life, Marlene Stoddard.
