Robin Rae Hanlin-Clemons passed away unexpectedly at her home on 19 February 2005. Robin was born on July 18, 1957, to Grady and Maxine (Wiechecki) Hanlin of Three Oaks, Michigan. She graduated from River Valley High School in 1975. After graduation, she pursued her love for animals and was employed as a veterinary technician in Three Oaks, and most recently, at the County Line Animal Clinic in Niles. She also ran a private animal grooming business at her home.
Robin is survived by her husband, Ron, who she married on 23 June 1983, her parents, Grady and Maxine Hanlin of Three Oaks, a brother Gary (Lori), and niece Erin of Bridgman, Michigan. Robin will be remembered as a life-loving person whose philosophy was that “there is no such thing as a bad animal”. As young as 6 she was bringing home adopted pets. Her room was filled with hamsters, white mice, goldfish, dogs, and yes – even a skunk. She adopted a family of orphaned wild rabbits, raised them, and released them when grown. She had a natural way with all creatures. Most recently she had trained her two Wolfhounds and had them formally qualified through the American Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Program. She then took them to retirement homes, homeless shelters, and senior centers to visit and entertain the residents. This was, as she said, her way of “giving back”.There will be no visitation.
