Roberta (Robbie) Lucille Sarsany, 80, died in her home, in Scottsdale Arizona on Saturday, July 21, 2018 after a year long battle with gallbladder cancer. She was born in Highland Park, Illinois on January 19, 1938. She attended Highland Park High School and began her formal education at Bowling Green State University until 1960 when she married her husband Robert (Bob). They started their family immediately and Robbie chose to stay home to raise their children. An artist her entire life, she used these years to refine her skills and eventually earned a BA in art from San Jose State University. Robbie is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bob. She is survived by her four children: Debby VanDeVelde (spouse, Craig), Doug Sarsany (spouse, Karen), Kevin Sarsany (spouse, Susan), Amy Sharpless (spouse, Walt), ten grandchildren: Trevor, Evan, Caitlyn, Neil, Sean, Morgan, Connor, Riley, Griffin, and Haley, and two sisters: Chickie Pernell and Nettie Stuard. Robbie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had a passion for travel and was often taking trips with her sisters, daughters and friends. She enjoyed painting, hiking, bicycling, kayaking and reading. She took great pride in her family and friends and was most happy spending time with her large circle of loved ones.
