Roberta M. Arbuckle, 83, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10:37 a.m. at Elkhart Hospice House, with her family at her side. She was born on April 7, 1932 in Fulton, County, Ohio to Merle and Katherine (Taylor) Glaser.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Frend in 1964, step-mother Evelyn Glaser, brothers, Weldon “Butch” Glaser, Wendel Glaser, sister Rita Roth; and her aunt and uncle Iva Mae and Vernal Carpenter.

Roberta married Robert C. Arbuckle on November 27, 1976 in Elkhart at Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving is her husband of 39 years, Bob C. Arbuckle of Elkhart; 2 sons, Terry (Jo Ellen) Frend of Granger, David (Gennifer) Frend of Wolcottville; 4 grandchildren; step-daughter, Jan (Earl) Barger of Leesburg, step-son, Greg (Teresa) Arbuckle of Indianapolis; 11 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Lillian) Glaser of Ellington, Fla., survive as well.

Roberta retired from Whitehall laboratories after 31 years of service. She was a 1951 graduate of Waldron (Mich.) High School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bristol, the Red Hat Society and had been active and was a past-president of the Elkhart Women’s Democratic Party. Roberta was an accomplished Tole Painter, enjoyed antiques, making ladies hats, dining out and traveling. Her grand and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was always helping others with her kindness, love and support. She will be greatly missed by all.
