Roberta “Bert” J. Clawson, 53, of Indianapolis, died on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Community Hospital North, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was born December 27, 1962, in Demotte, In. She was preceeded in death, as an infant, by her biological parents. Their names are, unfortunately, not known. She was raised by foster parents, Julius and Marjorie Holm-Hansen, both of Demotte, In.
She graduated, in 1981, from Kankakee Valley High School, in Wheatfield, In. She then went onto Ivy Tech College, where she received a Master’s degree, in marketing & business administration. She retired from Chase Bank, as a Customer Service Associate.
Bert accepted the Lord, on November 9th, 1991, at Rensselaer Pentecostal Church of God. She was part of the founding members of the Pentecostal Revival Center, Inc., in Indianapolis, In. She was currently a member of Shelby Street Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, also in Indianapolis. Roberta was a caring person and had a passion for working with children. She often worked as a volunteer at the H.O.P.E. Acadmey Christian School. She taught art and helped the children learn to read. She often would do the jobs that no one else wanted to do. Bert also enjoyed making baby blankets, for the new babies, in the church. She also enjoyed knitting, crochetting, cross-stitching, and crafts in general. Her motto in life, which she often mentioned, was,”let your words for today be short and sweet, for tomorrow “them” you might have to eat. She was a living example of this scripture- “the joy of the Lord is my strength.”(Pslam 28:7). She was truly a joy to all those who knew her.
She is survived by her foster-siblings: Bradley (Jan) Holm-Hansen, and Jeff (Debbie) Holm-Hansen, all of Demotte, In. She is also survived by several neices and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her foster parents.
