Roberta B. (Munroe) Temple, 89, of Marlborough, died Monday, May 2, 2022, at The Reservoir Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Marlborough. She was the daughter of the late Ira H. Munroe, Sr. and Blanche C. (Robert) Munroe and the wife of the late Clayton A. Temple, Jr.
Roberta graduated from Saint Michael’s Academy in Hudson in 1950. She was employed by the Framingham Union Hospital forover 39 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, during which time she raised 9 children. She later retired in 1993. She was a longtime member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Marlborough where she was a member of the choir. She was an avid fan of any sports or activities that her children were involved in and made it her mission to be their cheering squad at every event. She involved all her children in playing musical instruments and being participants in the Saint Mary’s Alouette’s, Hudson CYO/Royal Jades (where she was known as the band’s good luck charm, always shouting “Green Power”). She later followed her children when they performed with the 27th Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Kelly Bowlen-Lund, Linda Lawton, Wendy Hannus, David Lachapelle, Patrick Bruen, Cherie Coukos, Melissa O’Donnell, Matthew Temple, Daniel Temple, Jake Temple, Michaela Temple, Michael Yates, Riley Temple, and Gina Yates.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Casey, Juelia, Maila, Abby, Ava, Brianna, Carly, Ryan, Paige, Madison, Reid, and Jovi along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her children; Clayton Temple III, Rita Temple, Linda Temple, Janet Brophy, Daniel Temple and Cheryl Temple. She was also predeceased by her brother Ira H. Munroe, Jr. and his wife Clara of Thompson, CT.
She has touched so many lives with her love, generosity, and strength. She was and always will be the strongest woman we have ever known
