Roberta Ann Turner, March 21, 1938 – January 6, 2010.

Roberta Ann Turner, age 71, of Belton. Ms. Turner died Wednesday at her home in Belton. She was born March 21, 1938 in Kalkaska, Michigan to Ward W. and Marjorie (Chaney) Ruttan. She was a 1956 graduate of Rapid City High School in Rapid City, Michigan and earned a Bachelors Degree from Evangelical College in Springfield, MO, in 1960.

She later received a Masters degree from Michigan State University. She began a lifelong teaching career in 1963, teaching overseas for 10 years in Spain, Turkey, Japan, Germany, and Newfoundland. She then began teaching at Copperas Cove ISD where she taught for 30 years. She married Ronnie Wood Turner on August 18, 1973 in Kalkaska, Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1994 along with one brother, Vernon Ruttan in 2009.

She was a member of the Whosoever Will Ministries in Killeen and a volunteer for J.A.I.L. Ministries in Belton. Survivors include 4 daughters, Susan Kincannon and Donna Ward both of Belton, Della Solley of Dover, Arkansas and Thelma Marie Rogers of London, Arkansas, a brother, Melvin Ruttan of Madison, Florida, a sister, Beverly Gustke of Loudon, Tennessee, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
