Robert William Monti, 79, of Galesburg, died on Thursday, June 27, 2019, 8:00 PM, at Aledo Health Care Center, Aledo.
Robert was born on January 13, 1940 in Trenton, New Jersey. He was the son of Francesco and Torina (Mirabelli) Monti.
Robert is survived by two nephews, Christopher (Stacy) Monti of Galesburg and Nicholas Monti of Virginia Beach, VA; nineteen grand nieces and nephews, Nicky (Tanner), Lucia, Zachary, Christiana, Francesca, Kavan (who is currently serving in the U.S Air Force), Kainan, Giana, Lilly, Xavier, Avary, Bryant, Luciana, Thaddeus, Gabriella, Carter, Maria and Marcella, all of Galesburg; two cousins, Kathy Monti and Patti Aboud; and a sister-in-law, Susan Monti Maclary of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis Monti and Chester Monti; sister Lillian Monti; and nephew, Frank Monti, Jr.
Robert worked in the family business, Monti’s Café & Bar for 62 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the St. Raphael Church in Trenton, NJ and also of Corpus Christi Church of Galesburg. His religion was extremely important to him.
