Robert “Bob” William Ingram, 81, formerly of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at his home in Hickory, NC. Born June 1, 1937, in Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late Joel William Ingram and Edith Pollock Ingram. He is survived by his wife of 54 wonderful years, Virginia “Ginny” McCubbin Ingram and his children, Elizabeth M. Ingram of Hickory, NC, Virginia Ingram Kessler of Aurora, CO, and his informally adopted daughter, Malin Hollmark of Stockholm, Sweden; grandchildren, John Cole Kessler and William James Kessler of Aurora, CO, and informally adopted granddaughter, Freya Hollmark. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Bob enjoyed a varied professional life, first as a distributor for Cities Service (CITGO) followed by a career in property management as Mall Manager of Jasper Mall in Jasper, AL and Springdale Mall in Mobile, AL. Bob’s proudest professional accomplishment came in 1993 when he and his wife, Ginny created Cruise Masters Travel Agency in Charlotte, NC. With a devotion to their staff and commitment to customer service, they were awarded Carnival Cruise Lines’ Agency of the Year in 1998. Former Carnival CEO & President, Bob Dickinson would later reflect that among the 30,000 agency competitors, Bob & Ginny were “a shining example of what hardworking, focused travel agents could accomplish by presenting their clients with fabulous cruise vacations.”
