Robert William Blake, Sr., 74, of Middletown, CT passed away on February 18, 2017 after a twelve-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born November 5, 1942 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Herbert Frank Blake and Lillian (Hraba) Blake. He was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Marie Blake. Robert was a lifelong resident of the city who graduated from Vinal Regional Technical High School in 1960 as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. Following graduation, he started his own cabinet making business while serving in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Four years later, he went back to school and became a draftsman and mechanical design engineer.
