Robert “Bobby” Wallace, Jr., 83, passed away on February 24, 2006 at the Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Boerne, Texas. Wallace, a native of Somerville, Texas, was the quintessential Texas aggie — supporting any and all of the athletic teams in fair weather or foul. In his prime, he would always wear his beloved maroon and white. He attended Texas A & M after serving his country as a U. S. Marine during World War II and Korea, and graduated in 1956. After a career as a corporate accountant for various firms, he retired in Bryan-College Station and kept busy doing odd jobs and going to baseball and football games. When his health prevented his attendance, he supported the teams in spirit. He spent his last few months in Boerne, where he alternated charming and harassing the staff at Riverview. He is survived by his son, Robert and daughter, Janie, his brother-in-law, D. M. Best, two nieces, a nephew and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Patricia, his sister, Maxine Best and his parents, Robert and Ruby Wallace. He was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church.
