Robert Wade Franklin, 76, of Clarksburg, passed away at his home on Thursday November 17, 2022. He was born on December 14, 1945 in Roxboro, NC a son of the late Thomas Lee Franklin and Betty James Compton Franklin.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Hazel Avis Franklin, whom he married on July 4, 1984.
He is survived by two daughters, Yvette Schauler Franklin and her husband Harold of Germany, and Brandy Franklin of Clarksburg, one stepdaughter Inga Stangroom and husband Kevin of Roscoe PA; six grandchildren, Paige, Zoey, Alexis, Louis, Cole and Arianna; and one sister Carolyn Guthrie.
He was preceded in death by; one brother Tom Franklin and one sister Bessie Kopacko.
Robert attended Oscar Smith High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a union painter for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf and loved music.
