Robert W. “Rob” Hoppe, Jr., age 71, of Dacula, GA passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Thelma Wade Hoppe.
He is survived by his children, Suzy and Brian Jones, Sugar Hill, GA, Jennifer and Rex Ramirez, Carbondale, IL; grandchildren, Eugene Jones, Valentina Jones, Braxton Ramirez, Alexander Ramirez; brothers, Allan Hoppe, Charlotte, NC, Randy Johnson, Charlotte, NC, Gavin and Janice Hoppe, Houston, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Hoppe was born on August 15, 1948 in Charlotte, NC.
He was a 1967 graduate of Meyers Park High School and studied at the Central Piedmont College in Charlotte, NC. Rob was a veteran of the U. S. Army Signal Corps stationed in Germany during Vietnam. He owned Hoppe Computer Services in Dacula, GA and was an agent for Primerica Insurance Co. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church (Dacula, GA), Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society, and North Georgia Live Steamers. Rob’s ham radio call sign was KI4SBT. In addition, he was a avid Georgia Bulldog fan and passionate Coca-Cola collector.
