Robert W. Lee, 66, of Centralia, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Hospice Home of Edwardsville. He was born October 11, 1948 in Columbia, Missouri, son of Dorothy (Woods) Lee and Wayne Lee. Robert married Sandy Phillips on October 23, 1989 and she survives him in Centralia.
He is also survived by two sons: Dan Lee and wife Carla of Odin, IL and Robert Rowartt of Marion, IL; one daughter Laura Jones of Fischers, IN.; two grandchildren: Megan Meyer and Kassie Morgan of Fischers, IN; two brothers: Larry Lee and wife Roberta of Sparta, IL., Rick Lee and wife Andrea of Pinckneyville, IL; Many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Claude Phillips.Robert’s favorite quote was “when God is for us, who can be against us?” His greatest accomplishment was asking the Lord to be his savior. Robert worked at Universal Printing in St. Louis, MO and formerly a manager in offset at World Color Press. He was an avid Nascar Fan following Dale Earnhardt and worked on Tom Sneva’s Indy car, he also like to follow Matt Nevert in dirt car racing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, IL.
