Be faithful in the small things. It is in them that your strength lies. Be kind, work hard, stay humble, smile often, stay loyal, be honest, and love always! Robert W. Fowler, Sr. was a generous, good-hearted, and dedicated family man who gave his soul to God, his heart to his family, and his days to things he loved the most. Bob loved his sweets, his sports, and the seaside beach. On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Mr. Fowler’s 90 year-long road had risen to meet him. With the wind at his back, the tide had slipped away from the beach’s sand and God holds him in the palm of his hand.
Mr. Fowler was born in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia during the early spring of 1931. Bob served in the United States Navy on Whidbey Island.
Bob held his faith dear and had been a long-time and active parishioner of St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church in Oaklyn where he generously donated his time to his Church, serving as an usher, lector, sacristan, and choir member.
During his early years, Bob had coached Oaklyn girls softball. He had been a member of the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus, council 1443 in Haddonfield where he was very active in the Pro-Life movement. At home, Bob cheered on our Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles. Friday nights were homemade pizza and his summer days were filled with the Seaside Heights beach, boating, fishing, and crabbing.
Sometimes, no matter how much faith we have, we lose those we love. But, you never forget them and, it’s those memories that give us the strength to go on. Mr. Fowler leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 67 years, Joan (nee Brand) Fowler and his children; Joanne & her late husband Michael Toriello, Mary & her husband Michael Earle, Robert W. & his wife Tracy Fowler, Jr., Paul Fowler, Kathleen Fowler, John & his wife Carrie Fowler and Gregory & his wife Marilyn Fowler. Bob is the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his sister Anne Fowler and was pre-deceased by his brother, the late Francis Fowler.
