Robert W. (Bob) Foster, 88, of South Haven, MI and formerly of Elnora, IN, and Edwardsburg, MI, passed away Saturday, September 29th at his son’s home. He has resided with his son, Rob in South Haven, MI for the past seven years. Bob was born June 23, 1919, in Jefferson County Indiana. He married Helen (McCoy) Foster on January 8, 1949, who preceded him in death on March 7, 2002.

Bob was a proud veteran of WWII and he served in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon w/6 Bronze Stars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star. He earned his college degree from the Indiana School of Pharmacy at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. He owned and operated the Foster Pharmacy in Elnora, IN, from 1949 to 1986, when he retired. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #245, Elnora, IN and served 8 years on the North Daviess Community School Board. Bob loved the outdoors, watching birds and wildlife, fishing or just sitting with his two best friends, Sam (the bulldog) and Irish (the lab). He was a proud grandparent; grandchildren meant the world to him. Bob Foster touched many lives and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Roberta (Larry) Luce of Clinton, IN, three sons: Rob (Doreen) Foster of South Haven, MI, John Foster of Granger, IN and Larry (Sherry) Foster of Germantown, TN, four grandchildren: Brian (Tina) Luce of Matoon, IL, Ryan (Linda) Foster of Wilmington, NC, Dustin (Hannah) Foster of Carol Stream, IL, and Caitlin Foster of Granger, IN, two great grandchildren: Bailey and Griffin Luce and one expected in late January 2008. He is also survived by one sister, Polly Auberry of Indianapolis, IN.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and two sisters.
