Robert W. ”Bob” Estes Jr., 79, Anderson, died June 13, 2005 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.
He was born February 25, 1926 in Lapel, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived all of his life in this area.
He retired in 1989 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 20 years of service. He also served 20 years on the Anderson Police Department and retired as a Major of Detectives Division.
He joined the US Marine Corp in 1943 and served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was an avid Cubbies fan and boxing fan. He loved his dogs, Smoochie and Lightning.
He is survived by his wife whom he married March 27, 1971: Judith ”Judi” Jewell Estes. Children: Shirley Mae Estes of Anderson. Dan Estes of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Son-in-law: Michael D. Ebbert. Stepdaughter: Penny & husband Dale Jachim of Anderson. Brother: William Estes of Anderson. Three Grandchildren: Daniel Estes of Florida, Jeff Estes and Michele Ebbert of Greenwood. Two Step Grandchildren: Richard Jachim and Danielle Jachim of Anderson. Three Great Grandchildren: Mikayla R. Ebbert, Kaitlyn V. Ebbert and Kacie Mae Ebbert. One Nephew: Billy Estes of Nevada and several cousins.
He was preceded by his Parents: Robert W. Estes Sr. and Zella Mae Swinford Estes.
