Robert Wayne Berg, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in Altoona.
Robert was born May 14, 1941, in Waukee, Iowa, to Arloe and Marcella (Forrett) Berg. He married Marilyn Schaffer in May of 1967. Together they enjoyed 34 years of marriage.
Robert worked as a Tire Builder for many years. He was a true Chicago Cubs fan and loved baseball with a passion. In his younger years, he coached Little League. Once his boys moved out of Little League, he began to umpire. Later in his life, he was able to live in Arizona for the frigid Iowa winters and visit Cancun many times. Robert was a family man and truly enjoyed being with his family.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Michelle Berg of Pleasant Hill, IA; sons, Greg (Michel) Berg of Carlisle, IA, Mark (Stacey) Berg of Altoona, IA; grandchildren, Grace, Miles, Madalynn, and Micaiah Berg; brother, Dale (Judy) Berg; sister, Marlene (Bob) Sigmund; friend, Nina Moore; He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Berg; parents; brother, Edward Berg.
