Robert Vernon Merriman, Sr., age 69, of Clarksburg, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on September 27, 1944 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late James Stillman and Nellie Virginia Webb Merriman. He worked as a roofer for many years and loved working on trucks and woodworking of all kinds in his spare time. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Radcliff Merriman; 2 brothers, Ruben Ellis Merriman and Arthur Lee Merriman.
He is survived by his significant other, Barbara Jones, of Clarksburg; 2 daughters, Robin Denise Merriman, of Clarksburg and Nora Rose Lott, of Clarksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. Jr., and Virginia Merriman, of Clarksburg; 4 step-daughters, Patty Darlene Coe, of Clarksburg, Carolyn Jean Ramsey, of Clarksburg, Danielle Harris, of Clarksburg, Mia Jones, of Fairmont; step-son, Paul Howard, of Pittsburgh; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives also survive.
