Robert “Bob” Valentine Farley was born on March 24, 1928 to the late Clarence Valentine “Val” and Marie Farley in Alameda, CA. Robert passed away peacefully at his home in Alameda on September 16, 2021 with his family and friends by his side. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara and Valerie; his son, Richard; grandchildren, Nichole, Jessica, Ethan, Alexander, Miguel and Julissa; great-grandchildren, Peyton, June, Cesar and Dmitri; and brothers, Raymond and Donald. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Wille Mae“Billie”and brother, Dick.
Bob grew up in Alameda and went to Alameda High School. He was on the golf team and caddied at the local golf course after school and weekends. After high school he joined the Army and was stationed in Japan after World War II.
After finishing his military tour, Bob went back to college to get a degree in surveying at City College of San Francisco where he met his wife, Billie. They were married in 1951.
Besides golf, Bob was an avid hiker, backpacker, hunter, fisherman and storyteller. He enjoyed life tremendously and people enjoyed being with him. He will be missed tremendously by family and friends.
