Robert Tornari “Bob”

On December 25, 2020, of Glassboro. Age 79. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Razzi). Devoted father of Joyce Ann Prescott (Edward) and Robert C. Tornari (the late Polly Kay). Loving grandfather of Edward Robert Prescott (Hannah), Nathaniel Prescott and Katherine Prescott. He is predeceased by his mother and father, sister Mary Lou DeStefano (Louis DeStefano) and brother Anthony Tornari. He was known and loved by many more – nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends.

Bob will always be remembered for integrity, hard work and house repairs. He was a devoted husband, dedicated brother, loving and guiding father and grandfather and trusted friend.  He was born and raised in Philadelphia, where he met his wife. He spent 18 months in Thule, Greenland in technical training in electronics. He was married and moved to New Jersey, started a family. He served 10 years as a volunteer firefighter and worked more than 45 years as a manager in several electronics companies, overseeing manufacturing and testing of electronic components. He was respected by his co-workers for his fair and honest leadership.

He had a soft spot for his family. He enjoyed traveling with is wife and seeing sites around the world, taking many poorly lit, unfocused scenery photos over the years. He loved food, especially his wife’s Italian specialties. He was great at gardening and home repair projects, sketching notes on a napkin over Sunday coffee with his brother-in law Lou then rushing off to the hardware store. He used his many talents to benefit his kids and grandkids in the own homes and lives. He will not be forgotten by those who knew him, instead will carry on through them in many simple and wonderous ways.
