After a courageous struggle against pancreatic cancer, Robert T. Sugg ‘Bob’, age 71, passed peacefully into our Lord’s hands December 13, 2020. Bob was born September 14, 1949, in Beacon, NY to Norris Sugg and Frances Kochay Sugg, both deceased. Bob is survived by his children: Christal Prinz, Rebecca (Becky) Varone, and Mary Sugg; and five grandchildren: Preston LaBombard, Zachary LaBombard, Emily LaBombard, Mariella LaBombard, and Aria Varone.
He is also survived by four brothers: Richard (Dick) Sugg, Norris Sugg, Andrew (Andy) Sugg, and Michael (Mike) Sugg; and nieces and nephews Mark Sugg, Susan Rexhouse, Greg Lahey, Darren Sugg and Adam Sugg and other family and friends, all of whom he loved very much. A resident of Poughkeepsie, Bob was active with his church and local community and lived a life centered on faith, compassion, and love for his family.
He graduated from Beacon High School and earned an associate’s degree at Mohawk Valley Community College. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received honorable discharge. He was a career IBMer working at both the Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill plants for 25 years.
In his youth, he was an exceptional football player and artist. His home was decorated with his paintings, and he never missed an opportunity to watch a football game on TV. Above all, his passion was raising his three daughters-always actively engaged in their lives and willing to go to the ends of the earth for them. He carried the same passion for his grandchildren and cherished the times he was able to spend with them.
