He peacefully passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Maple Park Village, Westfield, following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Tipton, to Ivan Hartzal and Nellie Edna (Little) Presler.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, who served as a technical sergeant in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns of 1944-1945. He retired in 1980 from North Mechanical as a heating and air conditioning contractor in the Indianapolis area.

He is survived by two children, Craig Presler and Janice (Rob) Frank, all of Noblesville; two sisters, Margaret Lee Planalp, Wabash, and Mary Jane Roberts, Rockford, Ill.; one brother, John H. Presler, Princeton, Ky.; three grandchildren, Kristen Frank, Indianapolis, Scott (Amanda) Frank, Cardiff, Calif., Eric (Nichole) Frank, Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lida B. (Schwalm) Presler.
