Robert Spencer Lehman, 86, fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished his race on August 10, 2021.  Each portion of his journey was guided by his faith and marked by his servant’s heart that looked for the best, cultivated change for the better, and celebrated the good in life’s blessings along the way.

Born and raised in Des Moines, IA, Robert graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and was commissioned into the United States Army in 1957. He served honorably for 31 years and retired with the rank of Colonel.  For his final assignment, he was privileged to serve as the Commander of the 348th Medical Detachment, Orlando, FL, flying helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

He looked back on his years with IBM, CornBelt Aluminum, and Hunter Engineering as opportunities to innovate and instruct, always striving to learn more and to accomplish new goals.  His entrepreneurial spirit was evident in his love of real estate.

Above all, with his wife of 64 years, he cherished his family.  He is survived by his high-school sweetheart, Wauneta Marie Perry; his four daughters, Diane (Larry) Baylor, Lori (Philip) Hodgin, Barbara, and Elizabeth (Gregory) Britton; nine grandchildren, Renee (Wesley), Lauren (Taryn), Jonathan (Sarah), Benjamin, Adam (Lauren), Hannah (Seth), Robert (Caylin), Michael (Lindsay), Anna; and eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Warren, Anderson, Alden, Madeline, Henry, Cooper, Lennon.

To honor Robert and his generous spirit, a gift to Prader Willi Homes Oconomowoc would be a fitting remembrance.  His loving heart connection with his special daughter, Barbie, was exceptional.
