Robert Sherrill, 88, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Saturday morning, September 3, 2011, at the Old Farm Living Center in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
Robert was born December 30, 1922, in Buchanan, Michigan to Howard and Gladys (Parren) Sherrill.
He was raised on his family’s farm and graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1940 and continued his education at Michigan State University. On November 26, 1950, he married Velva Reese in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Robert continued working on the family’s Centennial Farm his entire life. He enjoyed dancing and traveling with his wife. Robert was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Galien River Soil Conservation District, and the First Congregational Church of Three Oaks.
Survivors include his sons, Rex (Priscilla) Sherrill of Berrien Springs, Michigan and Kevin Sherrill of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Brightbill of Berrien Center, Stephen Sherrill of Baroda, Michigan and David Sherrill of St. Joseph, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Kari and David Brightbill; and brother R. Lee (Beatriz) Sherrill of Boca Raton, Florida.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Velva on May 28, 2008, and by his twin brother, Ronald Sherrill on December 23, 2002.
