Robert Sherman Peck passed away September 18, 2015 in Boise, Idaho with his daughter by his side. Sherman was born November 9, 1923, the 8th of 9 children of Moroni Peck and Laura Ann Rowley. The family was residing in Twin Falls, Idaho at the time. Sherman loved life on the farm. With so many children in the family, there were always companions to share the work and the fun. The family moved between Twin Falls, Murtaugh, and Shelley, Idaho during his school years. Sherman began a love of speaking when he won an essay contest while in high school and was asked to read it on the radio. As a teenager, he loved going to hear the big bands—Jimmy Dorsey, etc., who came through Idaho. He loved this music throughout his life.

When World War II broke out, Sherman served in the Army Air Corp stationed at Hickam Field in London, England. He was being transferred to the Pacific area when Japan surrendered. Sherman met his future wife, Wanda Richardson, while attending BYU in Provo, Utah before he was sent overseas. They were married August 31, 1945.

Sherman is survived by his three children, Beverlee (Steve) Millward, Janice (Buzz) Crandall, and Gregory (Debbie) Peck; younger brother, Kenneth Peck; twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by many friends as well.
