Robert Scott, age 92, of Rensselaer passed away February 19, 2010 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was a local resident from 1947-1967 before returning several years ago.

Robert was born in Clinton County, Indiana on February 20, 1917 to the late James R. “Mike” and Eva (Wallace) Scott. He received his degree from Indiana University and was an acquiescent for the State of Indiana. While a resident of Rensselaer he was chief deputy for the Jasper County Sheriff in 1958. Robert was married in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 28, 1940, to Minnie Badgley who passed away in 1993. He was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints and of the Moose Lodge #7, Franfort, IN. Robert built and raced stock cars and was an avid racing fan. He was a member of the Flying Club and enjoyed flying airplanes and aerobatics planes.

Robert is survived by one daughter, Shelia (Jeff) Sharp and a grandson, Brett (Lisa) Risner both of Rensselaer; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and a sister, Mary Ann Scott Johnson of Frankfort, IN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Scott Dowd, a brother, Clifford Scott, and one granddaughter, along with his parents and his wife Minnie.
