R.D. Sanderford Robert Doyle “R.D.” Sanderford, 77, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 in Temple, Tx, surrounded by his family. He was born July 19, 1936 in Killeen, Tx to Max & Alline Sanderford. R.D. graduated from Killeen High School in 1954 and Coyne Electrical School of Chicago in 1955. He married June Tanner of Temple on April 6, 1956.
He was a resident of Bell County for his entire life. R.D. worked for Bell County Water Control District at Lake Belton, as a self-employed electrician and later for Industrial Electric of Temple. R.D. was a Master Electrician. He was a longtime member and former deacon of First Baptist Church, Belton. He served on the Belton School Board, 439 Water District Board and was a member of the First Baptist Church Golden Age Club. R.D. enjoyed gardening, woodworking and rooting for the Texas Rangers. He is survived by his dear wife, June Sanderford, daughters, Melanie Johnson and husband Mark of Temple, Scottie Hundahl and husband John of Tekamah, Nebraska and sons Jamie Sanderford and wife Anne of Belton and Paul Sanderford and wife Kelly of Belton.
His sixteen grandchildren are Russell Sanderford, Kyle Sanderford, Kerri Sanderford, Sarah Sanderford, Erin Hyden, Brian Sanderford, Meredith Cole, Megan Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Lindsay Johnson, Tanner Sanderford, Ty Sanderford, Emlee Sanderford, Tate Hundahl, Eric Hundahl & Ian Hundahl and four great grandchildren, Lauren Sanderford, Peytyn Sanderford, Brynley Cole & Wyatt Sanderford. He is also survived by sister, Mary Lou Smith of Killeen and sister-in-law Helen Sanderford of Temple. He was preceded in death by son, Sandy Sanderford.
