Robert S. “Bob” Haines of Edgewater Park, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at Brookdale Adult Living in Westampton at the age of 85. Born in Riverside, Bob was a longtime resident of Edgewater Park. He was a graduate of the US Naval Academy in 1954 and served with the Navy, including the Reserves. He was an owner of Haines and Haines Realty/TC Irons Insurance Agency in Burlington until his recent retirement.
Bob was very generous with his money and time, supporting the many events and organizations in his beloved City of Burlington. He was a past president of the Council of Proprietors of West Jersey, a past president of the Library Company of Burlington, a past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Burlington, a member of the Greater Burlington Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors for over 50 years and he was the recipient of their Citizen of the Year award.
He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He was also a longtime member of the Oneida Boat Club and a past president of the NJ Board of Realtors. In his spare time, Bob had a passion for sailing and loved entertaining friends and family. Son of the late Isaac S. and Elsie (Davis) Haines, he was also predeceased by his son Carter A. Haines and brother Daniel W. Haines. Bob is survived by his loving wife Jayne, his children Diane Fisler, Tracy McKee and Robert Haines and his eight grandchildren.
