Robert P. “Rob” Lennartz, age 71, of Batavia, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 8, 1951, in Geneva, the son of Lawrence and Gloria (Host) Lennartz.

Rob attended Thompson High school in St. Charles class of 1969 where he then enlisted into the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1969-1972. When he returned home, he worked for his father’s company, Lennartz Clean Rite. Rob was a loyal employee of Geneva School district 304 where he then retired in 2019.

Rob was a man of many roles and always kept himself busy. He was a bit of a history buff & a proud Veteran. At the young age of 69, he started online classes through Hinsdale College studying the Constitution. Robs biggest accomplishment by far was his family.  There is nothing that he loved more than cooking out and having everyone together under one roof. He cherished his long marriage with Sandy (50 years) and was a loving father and a doting grandfather to his 10 grandkids. He was always happy, looked at the bright side of things and was known for his sense of humor and wit. He was a sports fanatic, and when he wasn’t attending his grands sporting events or keeping up with Notre Dame stats, he kept himself busy with woodworking, fishing and building mini picnic tables for his beloved squirrels. When the season allowed, you’d find him outside, with his headphones on working in the yard or tending to his garden. Rob was one of a kind, and truly loved by everyone that had the honor of meeting him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Larry and Jay.
