Robert Richard Penny, 62, of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born February 24, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John Penny and Edith Quail Penny. He is survived by his wife Marsha Stevens Penny whom he married May 22, 2004. In addition to his wife he is survived by six children; Glenna Everett of Georgia, Tammy Cruce of Missouri, Anthony Penny of New York, Elizabeth Mechan of Georgia, Tracy Garner of Georgia and Bobby Penny of Indiana; three stepsons; Christopher Talerico of Clarksburg, Matthew Farrell of Fairmont and Daniel Merancio of Bridgeport; seventeen grandchildren and seven step grandchildren; one sister; Pam Peralta and “Lefty” of Brooklyn, NY and one brother; John Penny of Kentucky and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother; Dennis Penny. Mr. Penny worked as a cabinet maker and served in the United States Marine Corps. Robert was a loving husband and caring father. He will be missed very much.
