Bob was born on November 23, 1938, in Enid, Oklahoma to Joe and Jessie Bailey. Bob grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. He furthered his education at Phillips University receiving a bachelor’s degree in music education and continued his education at Mid-Western University where he received his master’s degree.

Bob’s passion was music. He was an accomplished trumpet player and enjoyed playing in various local dance bands, the Civic Light Opera and currently the New Horizons Band of Rio Rancho.

He enjoyed a long and successful career as a music educator teaching in various Albuquerque Public Schools. He created intricate and interesting programs for his high school marching bands and he and his family enjoyed traveling with the band to various band competitions.

Bob not only taught his students music but was able to weave discipline, commitment, and responsibility into the curriculum as well. He touched the lives of many students in a caring and positive manner and with his sense of humor.

A devout Christian, Bob served his church as choir director, bell choir director and soloist…always so happy sharing music with others. He served on the church Board of Directors as Moderator, Chairman of the Elders and as a Trustee.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jessie Bailey, his brother, Don, his sister-in-law, Jackie, and daughter-in-law, Diane Bailey.

He is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Bobbie, daughter, Tamara Curnow, son, John, daughter, Sharon Trout and husband, Danny, grandson Justin M. Bailey and wife, Rachel, granddaughter, Makenzie Wiggins and husband John, great grandson, Colton Bailey, sister, Margie Horrigan and husband, Roger, and many, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
