Robert Ray Edwards, Sr., 81, of Plainfield, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 15, 1937 to John and Katherine Edwards.
He served four years in the United States Army as a heavy machinery operator. He also worked as a truck driver for 35 years for CTT Transit before he retired in 1992.
Robert married Diane Huddleson Edwards, the love of his life, on December 18, 1954.
He is survived by his four sons, Robert (Diane) Edwards, Jr., Jeffry (Karen) Edwards, John Edwards, and Jerry Edwards; his daughter, Lisa (Mike) Petty; nieces, Marsha (Billy) Shuler and Karen Burke who he raised as his own; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Cook.
Robert is reunited in heaven with his parents, John and Katherine Edwards; nine brothers and sisters; and his beloved wife of 53 beautiful years.
Robert was a man of the Lord, and he will be remembered by his love and faith. To know him was to love him.
