Mr. Robert R. (Jukie) Collins, age 81, of Milford, beloved husband of 57 years to Maria A. Martocci Collins, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in CT Hospice, Branford. Son of the late Ernest and Agnes Reilly Collins, he was born on August 28, 1928, in Meriden, CT.
Robert was a Plumber/Steamfitter with Local Union 35, having retired from Yale University. He served with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy for 7 years and during that time he served in Shanghai, China and then served aboard the U.S.S. Oriskany CV- 34. Robert was a member of the Woodmont B’s, the Woodmont Fire Department Co.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his three loving children Patrick M. Collins and his wife Sharon of East Haven, Kathleen M. Stanley and her husband David A. of Milford, and Deborah A. Collins and her husband Christopher Healy of Hampden,Maine, five cherished grandchildren Kari, Rebecca, Robert, Emily and Ian. He is also survived by sister Ann Mills of West Haven, and a brother David R. Collins of Florida, and several nieces and nephews . He was predeceased by a brother Thomas R. Collins.
