Robert Earl Pearson was born on June 6, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana to his mother, Rosalee Nash. He was raised surrounded by brothers, Van, Dewayne and his sister, Gloria. He received his formal education in Shreveport, where he graduated from high school. He is remembered enjoying basketball while in school. He also had a jovial personality and full of enthusiasm. On March 21, 1975, Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force.
