Mr. Robert Patrick DeMarco
, 66, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2010 in the Clara Maass Continuing Care Center at Kearny.

Mr. De Marco was born and raised in Harrison. He has lived in Kearny for the last43 years. He was a forklift operator for President Container in Moonachie for several years. He retired in 2004.

Robert spent the early part of his life treating people to the sweet sounds of his guitar. He played in a band with childhood friends of his and they toured and played in many parts of the country. In his travels, “Bobby D.” as they called him played with the likes of Joe Pesci and was also in the back-up band for Diana Ross and the Supremes. He was also chosen by the Lovin’ Spoonfuls to fill in as one of their guitarists during their heyday.

Robert was a devoted father that did whatever he needed to do to take care of his family. He was a lover of children, animals and his sense of humor was unique. Regardless of his demeanor, no matter what was going on with him, he would always try and find a way to bring out someone’s smile or make them laugh with a silly face or a joke; even in his final days

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Barbara (Rosenthal) and his children Mindy Falcone (Paul), Bambi DeMarco, Amy DeMarco (Yesel) and Robby DeMarco (Jennifer).He was the brother of Mary DeMarco and Diane Bolzau. He was the beloved grandfather of Ashley-Lynn and Erin Cramer and Bryanna DeMarco and Lucas DeMarco. He was the son of Patrick DeMarco. He was predeceased by his mother Rose (Figac) on March 4, 1988. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
