Robert (Bob) Oliver Dresser

Bob Dresser entered this world on October 4, 1940 in Salem, Oregon. Born into a military family, he lived in Arkansas, Kentucky, Montana, and Germany, but spent most of his growing up years in Boise.

After graduating from Boise High School in 1958, Bob immediately joined the Army where he became a Green Beret.

Later, he spent almost six years in Vietnam as a civilian contractor for Morrison-Knudsen. He owned and operated a business for several years and then was a dedicated employee for several other businesses, including International Harvester. In the later part of his life, he worked with Western Recycling and Pacific Recycling and his many recycling clients. The family would like to acknowledge their help and support.

He married Linda Merritt on April 19, 1975 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. He was a proud father to a son, Robert, and a daughter, Danielle. He left this world on December 8, 2014 in Boise. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves behind his siblings, Larry Dresser (Boise), Betty Dresser Leonard (Seattle, WA), Bill Dresser (Boise), and Ann Lang (Boise), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was a quiet, gentle, generous man who would leave you rolling in the aisles with his one liners. He worked extremely hard right up to the end of his life; he loved his family deeply and was proud of them all. He enjoyed a good book, especially Louis L’Amour, as well as bowling, golf and weekends in Nevada. We will miss him dearly and wish him a “happy trails” in this next leg of his journey.
