Beloved and loving husband of 34 years to Joan (nee Hautop); loving brother to Roy, Jr. (Melinda) and Debbie; uncle to Jenny (Jerry Aurigemma); great uncle to Hailey and Eric Strzalka; loving son to the late Roy and Dorothy; cherished son-in-law to the late Bill and Gwen Hautop. Chicago-born and bred, Bob was a letter carrier for the U.S.P.S. for 38 years. In retirement, Bob enjoyed reading political thrillers, playing golf, maintaining his lawn, cooking for his wife and barbecuing for family, friends and neighbors. Bob was known for his positive attitude, good humor and generosity. These characteristics endeared him to others. People only needed to be in the same room with Bob to know that he was a good guy. He looked forward to family road trips and vacations to places near and far. Sports and music were instrumental in shaping Bob’s life. He was an excellent hardball pitcher for Farm City and throwing curveballs was his specialty. Close friendships were formed on the ballfield, on the golf course, at the bowling alley and at musical venues. Many of these friendships continued for more than half a century.
