Robert “Bob” Rempert, 85, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Catherine’s in Albuquerque. Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diane (Richburg) Rempert; daughter, Kim (Steve) Hoberg of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Ken (Rebecca) Rempert of Richardson, TX, Brad (Carla) Rempert of Broomfield, CO, and Rob (fiance Kathy) Rempert of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Robert Hoberg, Lauren Stanfield, Sara Hoberg, Will Hoberg, Christopher Rempert, Brendan Rempert, Payton Rempert, and Seth Rempert; great-grandchildren, Ayana Hoberg, Raynor Hoberg, and Rowan Hoberg. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald Rempert. Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1931 to the late Harold and Eleanore Rempert. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Liberal Arts and Law in 1953. Shortly after, he married Diane Richburg on April 17, 1954. Bob entered the Army in 1954 and served two years in Fairbanks, Alaska tracking Russian Migs that flew over the then Alaskan territory. On leaving the army he enrolled at the University of Illinois School of Accounting for two more years of post graduate study. Bob spent his working career as a corporate accountant at the accounting firm of Rempert, Sim, and Schmidt and a real estate management firm; both in Chicago, Il. He retired in 1995 and moved to sunny Albuquerque where he enjoyed his family and friends and the Native American culture. He was an avid book collector and history scholar. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
