Robert N. Lees, of Midland died at his residence on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The son of the late David and Jean (Neill) Lees was born on September 21, 1925 in Flint and was raised and educated in Davison graduating from Davison High School.
Bob received his Bachelors and Masters of Business from Central Michigan University where he was in the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. Bob served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked shortly for A.C Delco and then accepted a position as Professor of Business at Delta College from 1965 until his retirement in 1993 where he was very well liked and respected by both staff and students alike. Bob was a member of the United Church of Christ where he served as a Trustee. He was a member of the American Association of University Professors, Michigan Business Education Association, and served as President of the Faculty Executive Committee. Bob was fond of playing golf, antique cars and collecting duck decoys and wooden shaft golf clubs. Bob enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of volunteering at Stryker’s Lakeside Marina in many capacities for over 20 years. Bob was an avid MICHIGAN STATE fan and held season tickets for football and basketball.
Bob is survived by Priscilla Lees, son David (Cathy) Lees of Sanford and daughter Stephanie (Mark) Schneider of Sanford. He will also be missed by grandchildren: Brianne Lees (Tony Abramson) of Sault Ste. Marie, Kayla (Ryan) Stevenson of Clarksville, TN and great grandson Anthony Abramson of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Bob was predeceased by his brother David J. Lees and sister Helen M. Geraghty with his sister-in-law Jackie Lees of Davison surviving. Bob will also be missed by his dear friend Rhosan Stryker and the entire Stryker family.
