On February 4, 2018, Robert “Bob” Martinazzi, II, 49, of Severn, passed away at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Bob was born on May 2, 1968, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to Madeline and Robert Martinazzi. Bob graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1991, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy for nine years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He went on to earn two Master’s Degrees from University of Maryland, one in Civil Engineering, and the other in Environmental Engineering. He worked as the Director of Procurement for the University of Maryland. Bob was a huge Star Wars fan and belonged to the DC Star Wars Collectors Club, and the R2 Builders – R2 DC Club. He was also a Boy Scout leader and very involved at his church, St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting Star Wars memorabilia, Star Wars droid building, 3D printing, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Allison Mary Martinazzi; his cherished children, Emily Martinazzi and Robert Martinazzi, III; his beloved parents, Madeline and Robert Martinazzi; his loving sisters, Maria Lauer and Amy Kanich and brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Lauer and William Kanich; his dear parents-in-law, Mary and Jack Gifford; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
