Robert Martin Tangney,86 of Flagler Beach Florida passed away on January 13, 2016 at St Mary’s Hospital Vitas Unit in Waterbury. Robert was veteran of the Korean War. He was a sergeant in the Signal Corp (United States Army) stationed in Okinawa from 1951-1953. Born on November 16, 1929, to Robert & Florence Tangney of Southington CT, where he also went to school. Robert worked for 29 years for SNET in Connecticut.. He is predeceased by two sisters and a brother. His remaining brother is Kevin Tangney of Southington CT. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores, he leaves four children; Susan Fearney of Homasassa FL, Robert Tangney of Bunnell FL, Roger Tangney of Palm Coast FL & Mary Jane Alvarez of Middlebury CT. He leaves five grandchildren; Heather Chapentier of Meriden CT, Elizabeth Alvarez-Mahoney of Atlanta GA, Caroline Alvarez of New Milford CT, Louisa Alvarez of Boston MA and Nicholas Entyre of Austin TX. He leaves one great grandchild, Charlotte Chapentier.
