Robert M. Van Why, Jr, 74, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Moravian Village of Bethlehem, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sharon (Shive) Van Why, with whom he shared 54 years of loving marriage.

Born and raised in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Robert and Gloria (Raines) Van Why. Bob owned and operated R&G Air Freight until 1986. He then owned and operated Micro Fleet Services, D/B/A Micro Fire Apparatus, from 1986 until his retirement in 2015. Robert was always known for his devotion to his family, friends, and community. He was a life member of Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company for 49 years, serving 7 years as Fire Chief and 35 years as Fire Marshall.

Bob was also a life member of Han-Le-Co Volunteer Fire Company, Lehigh County. Additionally, he was Vice-President of Lehigh and Northampton County Fire Investigation Training Association. Bob was a 32nd degree Mason, Valley of Allentown, and a member of Bethlehem Lodge #283, as well as a member and photographer of the Rajah Temple Shrine, Reading, PA. Bob was also a member, past president and board member of the Rajah Caravanners. He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Bethlehem, where he served on the building committee and as an usher.

Survivors: wife Sharon; son Michael and his fiancé Deborah of Hanover Township; daughter Robin Gamble and her companion Vandon of Macungie; grandchildren, Michelle, Aubrey, Andrew, Erica and Scott; great-granddaughter Natalie.
