Robert Melvin Stinchcomb, 86, passed away peacefully next to his wife on Thursday, August 11, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, MaryAnne Stinchcomb. Born in Severn, MD on February 23, 1925, he was the only child of the late Robert Owen Stinchcomb and Bernice Victoria Stinchcomb. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1942 and in 1968 from University of Baltimore with a B.S. Degree. He went to work at Ft. Meade at the age of 19 and then the Pentagon, for the Department of the Army in the Comptroller’s Office as a budget analyst and wrote the instructions to bring in Army budget worldwide. He retired after 30 years of service. He was stationed in the western Pacific during WWII where he was in charge of the entertainment for the troops and had a lot of high profile stars in his company. Bob relocated to the Eastern Shore in Eden, MD and lived out the next 30 years on his horse farm, where he was also very active in the Exchange Club, American Legion and the Chamber of Commerce, holding the office of president many times.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a stepdaughter, Cheryl Stephenson; stepsons, Tommy Michaels and companion, Lorna Baker and Cosmo Michaels; step grandchildren, Mark Stephenson, Kelly Stephenson, Carrie Stephenson Bell and her husband Matt, Jon Michaels, Jr. and his wife Terry and step great grandchildren, Jessica Stephenson, Dylan Mills, Courtney Michaels; sisters-in-law, Ann Borgese, Marsha Weidenhamer, Connie Picillos and husband Angelo, Chris McDonell; brothers-in-law, Charles Wolpert and companion Joan Vigdor, Milton Wolpert and his wife Blanche. Also family and friends, Valerie Sherlock and his good friend Sam Chaffey, III. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Wolpert Stinchcomb.
