Robert M. Notigan, Sr. died Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia at the age of 69. Mr. Notigan was born in Philadelphia, raised in Burlington and was a longtime Edgewater Park resident. He was a graduate of Burlington Senior High School and Rider University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He served in the US Army in the 25th Infantry during the Vietnam War for two years until receiving a medical discharge, and Purple Heart, for injuries sustained during combat.

After his military service he returned to Beverly and his employment at the First National Bank & Trust Company in Beverly, where he served as Executive Vice President and Director. During his banking career, Bob served the following banks: First Jersey National Bank and Burlington County Bank as Vice President, Trenton Savings Bank as Vice President and Regional Manager, and finally,,Delanco Savings Bank as President and Director. Bob was also very active in community service.

He was a two term Mayor of Edgewater Park, and served for six years on the Edgewater Park Township Committee; a 16 year member of the Edgewater Park Board of Education; Chairman of the Burlington County Board of Social Services for 18 years; a previous board member of the Red Cross of Burlington County; a Past President and 39 year member of the Beverly Rotary Club; former chairman of the Edgewater Park Twp. Planning Board; former member of the Edgewater Park Sewer Authority; former director of Crossroads Programs, Inc. of Burlington County; former treasurer and honorary vestryman at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Beverly; member of the Beverly American Legion, Post 115; member of the DAV of New Jersey; and a member of the Roebling VFW Post.

Robert is survived by his wife, Diana (nee Disharoon), his daughter Melissa Notigan and her partner Michael Matecha of Edgewater Park, his son and daughter in law Robert M., Jr. and Christine Notigan of Philadelphia, his grandson Robert M. Notigan, III, his siblings and their spouses Carol and Marvin Allen of Tallahassee, FL, Donald and Shelly Notigan of Middletown, DE, and Bonnie and Tom Spivey of Burlington Twp. He is also survived by his three special nieces Amy, Lindsey and Tiffany Notigan of Middletown, DE.
