Steele 1941~2021Robert Michael Steele, age 79, of Upper Darby, PA passed away on March 27, 2021 in Broomall, PA. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 25, 1941, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (nee Brown) Steele. He was best known as “Bob,” “Bobby,” “Root,” or “Tinman” to his many friends and relatives. He was a proud Veteran serving as Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps until 1962. Bob had several professions along the way but found his true passion in the Golf industry. He was employed at many area courses including Walnut Lane and Cobbs Creek where he was the Head Golf Professional, the Banquet/Snack bar manager at Paxon Hollow, and Driving Range Manager at Merion Golf Club. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed dancing and a good card game with buddies. He was the king of surprise visits, showing up just to say “Hi!” He made his presence known wherever he went and was so full of life. Bob always put everyone before himself, jumping at the opportunity to help others, never expecting anything in return. He is preceded in death by Eugene and Marie (Bucci) Fox and his sister Peggy (Jim) MacCrone.Survived by his beloved wife Marianne K. (nee Fox) Steele; his cherished children, Kim Craddock (Mike), Pam McCoach (Brian), Bob Steele (Alessandra) and Jon Steele (Rebecca); his 10 Grandchildren, Alyssa Steele and Ava Craddock, Tyler, Andrew, Allyson and Jack McCoach, Sienna, Gavin, and Melina Steele, Hannah Steele; also his brother Joseph Steele (Dot), sister in law Kathie Fox (Sheree Burke), Susan D’Antonio (Mark) and a host of nieces and nephews.
