Robert M. Adams, 80, of Fortville, passed away June 23, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born March 5, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Duane J. and Ruth (Miller) Adams. He graduated from Fortville High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1953 before earning an MBA from Michigan State University in 1966.

Mr. Adams retired from his position as Sr. Vice President at Indiana Mortgage Co. after over 40 years of service. He and his twin brother Richard Henry were the first Eagle Scouts in Hancock County. Bob was a former President of both the Fortville Lions Club and the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association; had previously served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana State Museum; was a lifelong member of the Fortville United Methodist Church; a Life Member of the National Rifle Association; had been a local Republican Precinct Committeeman; and served on the Mt. Vernon High School Building Committee.

He is survived by his wife Juene (Hunt) Adams, whom he married on August 26, 1951; daughters Libby Thomas of Fortville and Susan Blanton of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren: Hillary (Jamie) Robinson; Trevor (Kelli) Leonard; LCpl. Tyler (Nikki) Leonard; Troy Blanton; and Crystal Blanton; four great-grandchildren; and sister Sydney (James) Suiter of Carmel. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Richard Henry Adams; brother John Adams; and sister Barbara Tresselt.
