Robert L. Lippert, 80 of Salem, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at the John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born December 16, 1932 in Shattuc, son of Raymond Lippert, Sr. and Mabel (Hamblin) Lippert. He married LaDonne Hahn on September 12, 1954 in Trenton and she survives in Salem.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is also survived by a son, Earl Lippert and wife Tracy of Shattuc; three daughters: Susan Tate and husband Jay of Salem, Ginger Patten and husband Floyd of Centralia and Jane Cavins and husband Michael of Salem; nine grandchildren: Matthew Woods and wife Kelly of Salem, Christina Woods and Fiancé Harold Hull, Jr. of Salem, Timothy Woods and wife Sandy of Salem, Joshua Tate, Steven Norris and fiancé Contessa of Centralia, Aron Cavins of Iowa, Jacob Henry of Carlyle, Jeremy Lippert of Salem and Jordan Lippert of Carlyle; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Raymond Lippert, Jr., Donald Lippert and Marshall Lippert, a sister, Barbara Bozart, and two granddaughters: Lindy Woods and Rebecca Woods.
Mr. Lippert served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed showing and judging chickens, flowers, trees and building bird houses. He was known as the Bee Man. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
